Individual Autonomy
Essence: testing every opinion and authority against one's own reasoning, serving self-governed judgment and conduct.
Each person's own judgment is treated as the final reference, with hierarchy, collective identity, and social pressure experienced as constraints to be questioned. Truth-telling and the exposure of concealed contradictions function as active drives, and conviction hardens under pressure. Relations are preferred level, and authority is accepted only where it is earned or agreed to.
Manifests as independent, nonconformist, and anti-authoritarian behavior.
